Christmas Ornaments by Dick LaFountain
A number of years ago my wife and I started prayerfully choosing, claiming and clinging to one name of the Lord for the coming year. Then
we started making ornaments with images and text of His Name as Christmas Tree Ornaments. That led us to do a yearly "Chrismon Tree" and
a Chrismon Worship Service in which congregants chose a name of the Lord to place on the Christmas Tree during the singing of selected
Christmas carols and hymns. It caught on. Each year for more than 30 years we have kept up this practice and encouraged others to choose
a name of the Lord to claim during the coming year.
After retiring I started making laser engraved wood slice ornaments with images and names of the Lord on them. They are very popular with
people who love the Names of the Lord. Many keep the ornament on their refrigerator or on a shelf throughhout the year. They also make
lovely Christmas gifts and are great for starting your own Christ-Tree.
There are a variety of ornaments we make. Some are made with the Hebrew letters of Gods's name, Some are Jehovah-Names,
others are the Name of the Lord in a fancy Script. We also have ornaments that are Christmas scenes,
and still other ornaments represent who we are in Christ.
